Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Grenada to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

His Excellency Ambassador Hassan Hadeed is a seasoned Grenadian diplomat and accomplished businessman with over four decades of distinguished experience in international trade, investment promotion, and business development. Appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in 2013, the Republic of Colombia in 2014, and the Republic of Panama in 2024, Ambassador Hadeed has played a pivotal role in strengthening Grenada’s bilateral relationships across Latin America. From 2002 to 2013, he served as Ambassador-at-Large for Grenada, focusing on the promotion of trade and investment on a global scale.

Beginning his professional journey at the age of seventeen in his family's enterprise, Ambassador Hadeed rose to become Managing Director and later Chairman of the Board of Hadeed Enterprises (Holding) Company Limited. His extensive business leadership spans multiple sectors, including retail, real estate development, finance, and manufacturing. He has held key executive positions such as Managing Director and CEO of Caribbean Supermarkets Ltd., Trans-Continental (Grenada) Limited, and Financial Investments and Developments Inc. He has also been a Director of Spiceland Mall International Limited since 2000.

Ambassador Hadeed’s contributions to international commerce are underscored by his tenure as Chairman of the Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA), Caribbean region, from 2012 to 2014. He received the prestigious IGA Global Summit Awards of Excellence and was named the 2009 Caribbean International Retailer of the Year.

In addition to his diplomatic and business accomplishments, Ambassador Hadeed has provided strategic leadership within government-affiliated institutions, currently serving as Chairman of Petro Caribe Grenada Ltd. He previously held directorships with the Grenada Investment Development Corporation and the National Water and Sewage Authority.

Committed to lifelong learning and corporate governance, Ambassador Hadeed has pursued professional certification from the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute, Peakford Management Consultants, and the IGA Coca-Cola Institute, with a focus on leadership, board performance, and food safety. He remains actively engaged in industry development through participation in international seminars, trade shows, and workshops.

Fluent in English and Arabic, with intermediate Spanish proficiency, Ambassador Hadeed is a culturally astute communicator and advocate for Grenadian interests abroad. He also demonstrates a strong commitment to social responsibility, supporting numerous charitable initiatives focused on education, youth, and the elderly.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ambassador Hadeed is a dedicated practitioner of Hatha and Kriya Yoga and enjoys nature and portrait photography, as well as gourmet cooking.
